Other than a bug zapper and bug spray, How do you get rid of gnats? I have a door outside that leads straight into my bedroom. At night, my door is covered with gnats. Like hundreds of them. Today I bought a bug zapper and hung it up. It look like the numbers of gnats tripled! My beige colored walls are stained up with those dead creeps. Nothing seems to be working. What can I do?! Please help.
Mosquito/Bug Zapper always trips the GFCI circuit? I bought a Black&Decker bug zapper. Everytime I plug it in to the outdoor wall outlet, it trips the GFCI circuit immediately. I've been plugging chain saw, trimmer, and lawn mower to the outdoor outlet before and they worked fine. I have no problem plugging it into the wall outlet indoors. What is the problem?
Will a bug zapper kill my cats fleas in the house? After removing fleas on my cat, I need to actually remove fleas from the house. Yes, I will be hoovering and spraying like mad, but there will still be fleas afterwards and I don't want to take any chances. If I were to put a bug zapper in a room at night, it should theoretically kill all the fleas near it, right? I mean, yesterday I lit a candle and before I knew it fleas were all around it. I've heard they're attracted to heat, and bug zappers do get quite hot.
How to attract mosquitos to bug zapper? Does anyone have much an idea on how I can attract mosquitos to my electrical shock type zapper? My zapper mostly shocks things like flies, moths, and sometimes wasps. But rarely mosquitos. Are mosquitos attracted by carbon dioxide or what? There must be something I can rig by the shocker so I can zap the hell out of them! And no I don't want to buy those lame gas mosquito trappers. I love the sound of the zappage and the glowing of the dieing bug.
Will I cause my dog to become crazy with a bug zapper? We recently purchased a bug zapper which we installed near our backyard patio. The first time we turned it on, it immediately let out a zapping noise which scared our dog. She wanted to come in the house and wouldn't listen to simple commands. Once inside the house, she would roam around from room to room with her head down and her tail tucked between her legs. My husband thinks we need to condition her to get used to the zapper, but I think it's kinda mean to make her so distressed like this. Any suggestions?
Why is it dangerous to use a bug zapper indoors? I have a bug zapper, and have always been afraid to use it in the house because of all the caution statements. I'm not really worried about a fire, so im wondering if there's any danger with the UV output maybe? Hopefully this is someones area of expertise! The mosquito's here come in hordes of thousands and are ruthless (This is no exaggeration)
Does a "bug zapper" kill June bugs and Japanese beetles? I am thinking of putting a "Bug Zapper" in our back yard because every morning I have to clean out close to or more than 50 June bugs and Japanese beetles from our pool ( we are currently trying to find a cover big enough to cover the pool at night but so far every place we go is "SOLD OUT". People have told me to buy those bettle traps but I've also heard the attract more. Any ideas would help. Thanks

What would happen if I used an outdoor bug zapper indoors? Such as a Flowtron BK-80D. Not that I have that many bugs indoors. Just that I don't want any bugs at all indoors. Simple logic says, the more powerful the zapper, such as a zapper for 1.5 acres, the less frequently I would see a bug indoors. Because if it can get rid of 90% of the bugs outdoors over an acre, maybe it could get rid of 100% indoors, which is a small fraction of an acre.
How do bug zapper ballasts work? Are they designed to regulate the current and increase voltage? Do they have the same inductance as the transformer? What is their primary purpose?
Where can I buy a bug zapper? I need one for tomorrow---so I can't shop online. Does anyone know where to find them--which stores. I've looked at Sears, Walmart, Biglots, and Bass Pro Shop onlines----no such luck yet! any suggestions?

Best bug zapper (price/safety) type to use on my deck? I am looking to get a bug zapper but I found out that some of them are not recommended to be used within 25 ft or so. of area intended for human activity, should not be attached to house or deck or other structures. So what is the reason some or all cannot be use on deck or an area for human activity? What is the best type regarding price, quality and safety that I can use on my deck?

how to build a bug zapper? We have a major problem with tiger moth caterpillars in western Colorado eating our trees. I need to try and kill as many of the moths during July & August before they can lay more eggs. I would like to make a large bug killer off 110 power (bigger than they sell in stores) or I may have to buy one, take it apart and look to see how the power is attached to the killing grid. Any help?
