How do you get rid of flies without a fly swatter?

I recently checked into a Villa on Summit Mountain in Virginia and my room is full of flies. There is no fly swatter in the place anywhere and I want to enjoy my sleep. How do I get rid of them!?

1. Buy those mosquito sound things or spray the area with bug deterrent.
2. Fly paper attracts them and they stick to it permanently. It's the perfect solution.
3. If you don't have any tools or insecticide, one thing you can try is the old light trick. Fly's aren't crazy about being indoors either and will gravitate to light like most insects as a point of escape. If you darken your bedroom, create a light source (open window day time; light bulb at night) in another room and they should move to it. If you know where the flies are, disturb their resting place in the darker room and they should get up and move to the light. Once you have most/all of them out, keep the bedroom door closed. Additionally, flies will stop moving around in a completely dark room and at night if the do not have a light source to fly to. That's when you'll get your sleep ;^)
